Wow, tomorrow is May 1st. The school year has flown and my last post was from the 3rd week of school. So much has happened there is no way to summarize it.
Our family has grown. We rescued a kitten so we have 3 fur babies, Riley – the Jack-Rat Terrier; Lulu – the Golden Retriever-Australian Shepard mix; and Ziva – a gray tabby cat. All three are like toddlers. Riley is in the terrible twos – he’s grumpy and you never know what kind of mood he’s going to be in. He’s 13 years old so I guess he’s earned the right. Lulu is almost 11 months old. She is a baby – everything goes in her mouth….towels, shoes, toys the grands leave out. It’s a constant question – “Lulu, what are you chewing now? You have 4000 dog toys to chew on, why don’t you?” Ziva has learned to leap and climb. I’m going to have to make new curtains for the sliding glass door. But I’m going to wait until we’re ready to put the house on the market.
We installed laminate flooring in the hallways and living room. OH MY Word!!!! I love it. My forever house will have laminate or vinyl plank throughout. I love it. I also love my robot vacuum cleaner. It’ the best Christmas gift ever.
My grands have grown so much. I’m so looking forward to spending time with them this summer. I’m getting each for a week.
Going to spend some time monograming today and have a movie date planned with my wonderful hubby later today.
Wow, another school year is here and we are 3 weeks in. It has been a fast and furious start. Our staffing this year is great! All three grade level teams are strong and have meshed together to provide our students with a great learning environment.
Added a new family member to the house hold. Say hello to Lulu!
She is half golden-retriever and Australian shepherd. She is also full of it! We got her after Taffy passed. Riley was mourning so severely. He wouldn’t eat or play. Now, he’s eating – puppy food, but he’s eating – and he plays again! It did my heart so good to see him and Lulu playing tug of war last night. Right now when he is tired of her he jumps on the couch. I don’t know what he’s gonna do in a week or two when she can jump on the couch too!!
So, I’ve had this blog for a few years and still haven’t been able to keep it up. Going to try again this year. I don’t think anyone reads it though. If a person reads it, not a bot, let me know.
Okay, so it’s been a year since I posted to my blog. Let’s see, has much happened…….You tell me.
I now have 2 grandchildren – a beautiful granddaughter was born on Feb. 2, 2016. Her name is Emma.
I did a lot of sewing for her, made her bedding just like I did Wesley’s. Here are some of the little things I sewed!
The boppy cover was the second zipper I’ve ever put in. It wasn’t as hard as I thought and it was fun.
I’ve also become the Assistant Principal of my campus. So I have a new job to learn and it’s been challenging. I’ve done okay, but made some mistakes and I’m sure I’ll make more, but I love it. Life is moving forward a fast pace and I’m just trying to keep up.
Well, I’ve been back at work for 1 1/2 weeks. I’m doing great! I’ve started my diet and it’s been successful, 10 pounds down, too many more to go. Lol. It will come off. I’ve been using a Fitbit to help me. I’m giving it the credit for my weight loss. I log all my food and keep track of my steps each day. I had no idea how much I walked each day.
Danny is driving out of the Tyler yard this week, so he’s been home every day. That has been nice.
Well, this is it for tonight. Also, check out my about page, I made an update. It has been pointed out that I had no reference to who I am. So I fixed that.
Well, 2015 has started a little rough. I’ve spent the last 3 weeks sick. I’ve been in the hospital with pneumonia and I’ve memorized every flaw in my house…..Watching HGTV for two weeks while recuperating may not have been a good idea. I have a long list of DIY things!
I can say that there has been some benefit to it all. It has made me realize a couple of things. The first is how fortunate I am to have the family and friends that I do. My sweet Daddy, came to the hospital and managed to keep my Mother home, she was sick herself, to check on me and kept my hubby, Danny, informed and my daughter, Heather. The first night when I got into my room, I was so weak, he even cut up my meat for me. Just goes to show you always need your parents and never take them for granted. I know how blessed I am. My sweet daughter, Heather, came to the hospital to keep tabs on me, having a nurse in the family definitely has its benefits! She brought my sweet Angel, Wesley and he was the best medicine ever. And my hubby, Danny, he had taken care of me when I was first diagnosed with the flu, only to have to come home early to find me in the hospital. He was awesome, when I took that first walk down the hospital hallways, He kept me steady and I felt safe.
My friends have been great, calling and checking on me and offering help in any way I need it. I am truly blessed. My bosses have been fabulous, they have told me not to worry about anything. I can’t wait to get back to school. I have missed my kids, my co-workers and friends, and I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone Monday. I’m sure I’ll be exhausted by the end of the day, but I’ll be happy! I work on the best campus ever with the best folks ever!
This illness has caused me to pause and look at how I’ve been taking care of myself….or not as the case would be. I know I have to change how I do things. I have to eat better, exercise more and pay more attention to the little things. This will happen. I’m gaining strength every day, still coughing up my toenails, but I do feel better. So, that being said, the focus of this blog is changing to getting healthy for a while. So I’m open to suggestions on healthy eating, exercise and anything else that will help me met my goals. I know my following is very small (if I have one at all) but this will be my therapy. Here’s to a healthier February and rest of 2015!!!
